Amygdala
- Is one of the many vital parts of the brain
- Involved in many of our emotions and motivations, particularly those that are related to survival
- Occupied in the processing of emotions such as fear, anger and pleasure
- Also responsible for determining what memories are stored and where the memories are stored in the brain
- The amygdala is an almond shaped mass of nucleic acid that is located deep within the temporal lobe of the brain
- If the amygdala is destroyed, there is a decrease of fear and aggression
- Damage causes the individual to have impaired ability to process emotional characteristic of facial expression
